Facilities management (FM) as a profession and as a sector has evolved from humble beginnings. Starting as little more than caretaker and cleaning services in the 1970s, it is now a discipline far greater, increasingly earning respect amongst company executives as being instrumental in informing strategic decision-making, supporting financial targets and keeping operations running.
